In the Europa League, Sassuoli were unable to keep up with the Juventus of Italy in the first leg, losing 2-1 at the Stadio San Paolo in their first match of the round of 16.
The Italian champions are hoping to avoid a repeat of the last round when they travel to Turin in the second leg on Wednesday night.
In the first half, the Bianconeri struck early and often with some very creative passing, but the home side struggled to create any chances and could only muster two shots on target.
The Bianconeries were not able to take advantage of the Sassuolians slow and methodical attack and the Biancocelesti only managed to net two goals on target in the game.
Sassuolo will be hoping to get back on track in the return leg when they face Chievo in the next round.
