Which books are dystopian?

The dystopian fiction genre is a literary phenomenon which blends literary and social commentary, often with elements of science fiction, science fantasy, and other forms of speculative fiction.

Some writers have been more than willing to experiment with the genre, and a growing number of books are exploring the themes of dystopia.

A number of popular dystopian novels, such as John Green’s novel A Wrinkle in Time and Christopher Paolini’s dystopian novel The Year of the Flood, are being explored by independent publishers, while others are being adapted into movies and TV series.
